CNN is under intense scrutiny after airing a controversial segment featuring ex-Washington Post journalist Taylor Lorenz, who appeared to sympathize with Luigi Mangione — the man accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The segment drew criticism for equating Mangione’s far-left supporters as an example of far-left extremism without challenging the dangerous rhetoric.

The primetime episode of “The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper” titled “MisinfoNation: Extreme America” aimed to explore extremism in the U.S.

Since it aired, media watchdogs have been slamming CNN for promoting a “morally vacuous narrative.
