Timothy Hudson, the 16-year-old accused of sexually assaulting and killing his stepsister, has been taken into federal custody. This development follows a pivotal decision by a federal judge to revoke the teenager’s pretrial release now that he faces charges as an adult.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Miami confirmed that Hudson surrendered to U.S. Marshals at the federal courthouse in Tampa on Monday morning. The move comes after a sealed order from U.S. Magistrate Judge Edwin Torres was unsealed, effectively ending the teen's months of freedom while awaiting trial.

For several months, Hudson had been living with an uncle under electronic monitoring, a condition set by Judge Torres in February.
