Authorities in Bucharest, Romania apprehended Andrew Tate, his brother Tristan Tate, and two women working as their associates at the end of December 2022. Their arrests occurred amid rape, human trafficking, and organized crime charges.

Initially, Romanian planned to hold the Tates in detention just through the end of last month. However, as January came to a close, a judge in Romania honored prosecutors’ request to keep Tate and his brother detained through the end of this month, until the 27th.

Later, the judge released a statement, warning the Tate brothers have demonstrated a propensity to target vulnerable individuals, victimize them, and then blame them for the abuse they endure.

Another factor blocking the Tate brothers from getting out is concerns about their wealth and their means to flee Romania and go to a country without extradition.

Earlier today, Andrew Tate appealed the verdict to keep him incarcerated through the end of this month. This is an appeal that Tate lost.

Another legal loss for Tate

Today’s ruling in Romania marks the second time that Tate appealed his detention, only for a judge to keep him locked up. Tate, his brother, and the women arrested with them in December will therefore stay detained until at least Monday, the 27th.
