Ballard Spahr LLP, a Philadelphia-founded law firm, and Lane Powell PC, based in Seattle, announced plans to merge, creating a combined firm of more than 750 attorneys under the Ballard Spahr name. The merger, set to take effect on Jan. 1, 2025, will significantly expand Ballard Spahr’s footprint into the Pacific Northwest.

With the merger, Ballard Spahr will establish a presence in Anchorage, Portland, and Seattle, adding to its 18 U.S. offices. This move aligns with Ballard Spahr’s long-term strategy to grow its business in regions that are important to both the firm and its clients.
