The New York Post reports that pop superstar Britney Spears just signed with Simon & Schuster to write her memoir. And the $15 million book deal is expected to be a bombshell tell-all.
Publishing insiders report that Spears, 40, has reached a landmark deal with the Simon & Schuster publishing house. There has been a bidding war for the tell-all book with multiple publishers hoping for the project.
According to insiders, “the deal is one of the biggest of all time, behind the Obamas.” The rights to Barack and Michelle Obama’s books sold in 2017, reportedly for $60 million. This is the largest-ever figure for the nonfiction genre of books.
In the meantime, the “Toxic” singer has been silenced by a much-contested conservatorship for 13 years. And her attorney Mathew Rosengart has called it a “Kafkaesque nightmare.”
But her most loyal fans in the #FreeBritney movement helped make the alleged abuses public. The high-earning Britney was trapped in conservatorship with her father Jamie Spears at the helm.
