Kimberly Gotti, 55, and Gianna Gotti, 25, wife and daughter of former mob boss John Gotti Jr. were arrested after an alleged assault at a basketball game between Locust Valley High School and Oyster Bay. 

The incident, which took place in Lattingtown, NY, resulted in both women being charged with third-degree-assault before they were released of their own recognizance.

John Gotti, Jr. disputed the alleged victim's account. And claimed that his wife and daughter were only at the court proceedings because they refused to press charges against anyone else involved. 

According to court documents, the altercation occurred when John Gotti’s wife and daughter allegedly punched a 47-year-old woman in the face during the game. 

The victim, from Upper Brookville, claimed that her wig was forcibly removed during the scuffle, causing her significant distress.

 Attorney Gerard Marrone, representing the Gottis, countered by stating that the alleged victim initiated the physical confrontation by punching Kimberly first.

The altercation escalated with heated exchanges between parents from both schools.

Marrone claimed that parents from Locust Valley were verbally harassing players, including Kimberly and John Gotti Jr.'s son, who was playing for Oyster Bay.

He added that they were picking on her son Joseph Gotti, who plays for Oyster Bay. And the alleged victim went from “zero to 100” arguing aggressively. 

 Despite attempts to intervene and defuse the situation, the altercation continued, leading to the involvement of additional individuals and the eventual arrival of police.

The incident prompted an investigation by Section VIII Athletics is focusing an investigation on student interactions, parental conduct, and overall procedures related to athletic events. 

The superintendent of the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District issued a statement acknowledging the incident and expressing gratitude for the support received from the Locust Valley School District in addressing the matter.

Kimberly and Gianna Gotti were charged with third-degree assault and released on their own recognizance, with a court order to stay away from the victim.

The involvement of the family of a notorious figure like John Gotti Jr. assures it will be an attention-grabbing case.
