On Sunday, the political world took a new turn when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis dropped out of the 2024 presidential election. DeSantis’ exit from the race happened days before the New Hampshire primary and followed his failure to win the Iowa caucus, despite heavily investing in the state and securing an endorsement from Gov. Kim Reynolds.

With the Florida governor off the map, Republican Nikki Haley is the only other candidate running for the GOP nomination, aside from Trump. Haley and DeSantis had previously upped their attacks against one another in recent weeks. On multiple occasions, the former UN ambassador said DeSantis only targeted her because of his own campaign “losing.”

Roughly 24 hours after the Florida governor bowed out of the race, Haley’s campaign reported raking in over half a million dollars in donations.
