A wave of unrest has swept through Los Angeles as hundreds of demonstrators clashed with law enforcement during what has become known as the Paramount Protests.
The name comes from the predominantly Latino neighborhood at the heart of the turmoil.
The riots began when Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids occurred last week. And continued to escalate this week until President Donald Trump ordered 2,000 National Guard troops to the city over the weekend.

The Paramount Protests began Friday night following ICE raids that reportedly led to the detention of at least 44 individuals accused of immigration violations. Raids occurred around Home Depot locations, garment factories, and warehouses, targeting street vendors and day laborers. Most were undocumented immigrants.
Tensions intensified on Saturday when protests resumed for a second day. Crowds gathered in the streets of Paramount, waving Mexican flags and chanting slogans like “ICE out of L.A.!”.
