Lil Durk
The Grammy-winning rapper has released many albums over the course of his long career. He has been nominated for a Grammy four times and won best Melodic Rap Performance in 2023. Aside from his music career, Lil Durk is no stranger to legal troubles. The rapper has faced multiple arrests, including being arrested in 2011 on a weapon charge, something he was sentenced to three months in prison. In 2013, he was arrested on another weapon charge, this time because he had it unlawfully due to being a convicted felon. He did not face prison time for those charges. In 2016, he was arrested on drug and weapons charges that were later dismissed. In 2019, he and the late rapper King Von were arrested together on a non-fatal shooting charge, but that was dismissed.Murder-For-Hire Plot
Durk was arrested by U.S Marshals in Broward County, Florida, today on charges of a murder-for-hire plot. This comes after five associates of his were arrested in the state of California in association with a murder-for-hire that led to death. It is alleged that the murder is gang-related, as multiple of the accused parties are in Chicago-based gangs. The accused are a part of a hip-hop collective that Lil Durk owns called "Only the Family." It's alleged that the murder was in connection to another murder of a member of this collective in 2020. The murder-for-hire is said to be revenge. This fallen member was also high-ranking in the group, explaining why they felt action was needed in the case of their murder. The member was never named but was given the initials D.B. by prosecutors. It was reported that D.B. was killed by an associate of someone referred to as T.B. The same day that member was murdered, so was gang-affiliated rapped King Von, whose real name is Dayvon Bennet. Prosecutors allege that the main target of the murder was rapper Quando Rondo, real name Tyquian Terrel Bowman. This is a developing story.
