The Chicago-based rapper, known as Lil Durk, was arrested today on a murder-for-hire plot charge. Lil Durk, real name Durk Devontay Banks, is 32 years old and no stranger to legal troubles, though this would be his most serious charge. While there isn’t much information, his charges were made public, though the details of who he was allegedly trying to murder are unknown.

The Grammy-winning rapper has released many albums over the course of his long career. He has been nominated for a Grammy four times and won best Melodic Rap Performance in 2023.
Aside from his music career, Lil Durk is no stranger to legal troubles. The rapper has faced multiple arrests, including being arrested in 2011 on a weapon charge, something he was sentenced to three months in prison. In 2013, he was arrested on another weapon charge, this time because he had it unlawfully due to being a convicted felon. He did not face prison time for those charges.
In 2016, he was arrested on drug and weapons charges that were later dismissed. In 2019, he and the late rapper King Von were arrested together on a non-fatal shooting charge, but that was dismissed.
Murder-For-Hire Plot
Durk was arrested by U.S Marshals in Broward County, Florida, today on charges of a murder-for-hire plot. This comes after five associates of his were arrested in the state of California in association with a murder-for-hire that led to death. It is alleged that the murder is gang-related, as multiple of the accused parties are in Chicago-based gangs.
