“The cash keeps flowing, and the deals keep coming,” the report notes.
Mars Dreams and Starship Setbacks
Musk’s vision to make humans interplanetary remains the company’s driving force. The Starship Super Heavy, designed to carry people and cargo to Mars, is central to this mission. However, real-world safety issues continue to plague SpaceX.
On June 26, a crane collapsed at the SpaceX Starbase facility in Texas. Captured on video by YouTube streamer Lab Padre, the incident has prompted an OSHA investigation. SpaceX has not commented, and it is unclear if there were injuries.
OSHA has a complicated history with SpaceX. In 2014, the agency faulted the company after an employee died on the job. More recently, OSHA’s budget cuts under the Trump administration have hampered investigations, shutting down 11 field offices.
Looking Ahead
As SpaceX continues to scale both in ambition and valuation, its path forward will be shaped by a mix of market confidence, political relationships, and the ability to mitigate safety risks tied to its high-stakes engineering efforts.
