Last week, President Trump faced condemnation from the Democrat Party after his criticism of Rep. Elijah Cummings. Quite simply, the president stated that Cummings failed to perform admirably in his 7th district of Baltimore, Maryland. The president even tweeted and retweeted a series of videos which shed light upon the poor state of Baltimore.

Despite the poor quaity of living conditions and immense poverty, the president took serious heat. Progressive detractors accused Trump of racism; one of these detractors just so happened to be House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

This subsequently prompted Trump to remind Pelosi that she has also faced criticisms of racism from the Democrat Party. Finally, the president then took the liberty of pointing out flaws in Pelosi's own district of San Fransico, California.

A Closer Look at Trump's Pushback Against Critics

The president declared that Democrats have a tendency to play the race card when censure comes their way. Trump also noted that calling out a poorly done job is not racist, but factual. Of course, the president also urged Americans to "take a look" at the quality of living in Baltimore.

The president's remark about Pelosi comes shortly after her feud with freshmen Democrat congresswomen. These congresswomen included Reps. Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib.

During a back-and-forth about a spending appropriation bill, Pelosi made statements asserting that the aforementioned caucus members only have influence on social media, not in real life. This later prompted Ocasio-Cortez to fire back, stating that Pelosi singled out women of color.

Since the feud, Pelosi and Ocasio-Cortez have met with one another in order to bridge gaps.

Accusations of Racism

Many right-leaning Americans share the viewpoints which President Trump articulated in his tweets. Conservatives across the nation have asserted that Democrats tend to accuse others of racism when things are not going their way.

Despite this criticism, left-leaning individuals overwhelmingly maintain that numerous policies and rhetoric espoused by the right-wing comes with racist undertones. In turn, many conservatives believe that true racists are the ones who see racism everywhere they go.

At this time, Nancy Pelosi has not yet publically responded to the president's tweet.
