In the aftermath of the vandalism, the father of one of the children expressed his remorse, stating that he was “devastated” by their actions. He told the MailOnline that he was “totally shocked” when the police showed him photographs of the destruction. According to a series of books “Ghosts of Isle of Wight” by Gay Baldwin, the property has a dark history. Legend has it that the ghost of a deceased woman lingers in the house. The book also recounts a chilling tale of a maid who met her end within the house, locked away upstairs as punishment.
