The ongoing investigation by the Dallas Police Department has yet to determine why the victim was targeted. To protect her safety and privacy, her identity has not been disclosed.
Hernandez-Hernandez, after his arrest, admitted to participating in the robbery and provided investigators with the nicknames of his co-conspirators. However, he claimed not to know their full names, as outlined in an arrest affidavit.
Hernandez-Hernandez informed authorities that he had received a Facebook message asking him to meet with a man he knew as “Cuma” at an apartment in Irving.
He allegedly got into a black SUV with four other men and was driven to the Northwest Dallas location.
Violent Robbery
The gang’s operation took a sinister turn when the suspects drove to Northwest Dallas and attacked a woman in her driveway. According to the arrest affidavit, Hernandez-Hernandez stayed outside while two of the men entered the home. Once inside, they signaled for the others to join them.
The woman was sitting in her living room and held her at gunpoint. The affidavit reveals that the men used Google Translate to communicate with her, since they did not speak English.
