Cher's son Elijah Blue Allman, whose father was the late Greg Allman of the famed Allman Brothers Band has taken steps to halt his divorce proceedings.

He has dropped the claims against his wife Marieangela King after two tumultuous years. 

The legal move came as Cher, who claims to be concerned about Elijah's well-being, filed for conservatorship. The legal documents allege he has severe mental health and substance abuse issues that need to be addressed.

Adding to the complex narrative, King had previously alleged in a December 2022 filing that Cher orchestrated a kidnapping plot. And Cher’s son was removed from his New York hotel room on the couple’s wedding anniversary. 

Cher denied these allegations in an October 2023 interview, attributing the family matter to Elijah's long-standing addiction issues.

Elijah Blue Cher’s son 

Elijah Blue Allman, 47, and Marieangela King tied the knot on December 1, 2013.  Allman filed for divorce on November 15, 2021, citing irreconcilable differences after a separation in April 2020. 

Surprisingly, Allman's attorney has recently filed a request to dismiss the divorce case without prejudice, indicating a potential reconciliation between the couple. King's attorney has reportedly consented to the dismissal.

Cher's Conservatorship Petition

The decision to end the divorce proceedings comes on the heels of Cher's filing for conservatorship of Elijah's estate. Cher, a Grammy-winning singer, alleges that her son's mental health and substance abuse issues make him incapable of managing his financial assets.

 She expresses concerns that any funds distributed to Elijah could be used for drugs, endangering his life. A hearing for a temporary order regarding Cher's conservatorship petition is scheduled for Friday.

In response to Cher's conservatorship petition, Marieangela King, through her record label Verdict Music, has issued a statement denouncing the move as "deeply disturbing." 

King contends that she has historically been excluded from decision-making processes regarding her husband's medical treatment. The statement emphasizes King's commitment to Elijah's recovery and her involvement in his medical care.
