The legal storm surrounding Gervonta Davis intensified dramatically when Doral, Florida police arrested the boxing champion in the early hours of July 11, 2025, on battery charges stemming from an alleged assault on his ex-girlfriend during a heated custody exchange on Father's Day.

The incident, which occurred on June 15, 2025, has unleashed a cascade of legal complications that threaten not only Davis' freedom but his fundamental rights as a father. What began as a routine custody pickup has evolved into a complex web of criminal charges and family law proceedings that could reshape the boxer's relationship with his children permanently.

The Father's Day Incident That Changed Everything

According to the arrest report filed by Doral police, Davis arrived at his ex-girlfriend's residence on June 15 to collect the two children they share.
