Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe, the popular Southern-inspired restaurant chain known for its lively atmosphere and Cajun cuisine, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the Southern District of Texas, according to court filings made on Wednesday, October 1.
In federal court documents, Philip Parsons, CEO, said the bankruptcy decision was driven by a combination of declining sales, shifting consumer spending habits, and increased competition within the casual dining sector.
“Thus, the Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe sales have continued to be unfavorable to forecasts in light of the heavy competition among casual dining chains to attract consumers searching for the best value to fit their strained budgets,” Parsons said in a declaration supporting the bankruptcy filing.
