Biden says in interview he’ll lock down US, claims Trump will defund police

In a soon to be released Sunday interview, Joe Biden told ABC’s David Muir that he would shut down the United States if directed to by experts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I would shut it down; I would listen to the scientists,” Biden said.

The presidential candidate wasted no time slamming the Trump Administration for its response to the coronavirus.

“That is the fundamental flaw of this administration’s thinking to begin with … In order to keep the country running and moving and the economy growing, and people employed, you have to fix the virus, you have to deal with the virus,” said Biden.

According to Biden, Trump’s approach to reopen the economy before fully controlling the virus is a “fundamental flaw” in Trump’s plan.

Biden also did a separate interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts, where the subject of defunding the police came up.

When asked if he planned to defund the police, Biden responded “No I don’t,” a point of view he has maintained while under pressure from activists on the Left to defund America’s police forces and limit the scope of their duties.
