Members of his family, who filled several rows of the courtroom, shouted support as he was escorted out:
“We love you, Brian! We’re here for you, baby!”
Cole will remain in federal custody until his next court date, a detention hearing scheduled for December 15.
More details on the court appearance can be found via Fox News.
What the Criminal Complaint Reveals
According to Wednesday’s criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court:
- Cole is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing corrective glasses.
- He lives with his mother and relatives in northern Virginia.
- He works in the office of a local bail bondsman, though the employer is not named.
Cole’s step-grandfather, Earl Donnette, confirmed to NBC News that the FBI had contacted him but declined to comment further.
Prosecutors also stated that Cole sat for over four hours of questioning with law enforcement on Thursday. A transcript of that interview is expected to be turned over to Cole’s attorney, John Shoreman, this weekend.
