Last year, Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips garnered national attention upon announcing his run for president of the United States. The Democratic congressman declared America needs to turn the page to a younger generation leading politics and implementing reforms that ultimately unite the country.
Furthermore, it is Phillips’ assertion that President Biden won’t manage to eke out a second victory, should he face Trump again during this year’s general election.
To underscore this claim, Phillips has pointed to numerous polls that show Biden floundering in one-on-one matchups against Trump, coupled with surveys that suggest overall disillusion with the president among the electorate.
While some Democrats (and others of various political persuasions) have shown certain degrees of openness and receptiveness to the Minnesota congressman, Biden’s supporters have not.
In fact, those who favor the current president getting another term in office contend that Phillips is only helping the GOP. Now, Phillips is on record warning that his party has become “completely delusional.”
Strong criticism for the Democrat Party
As the Democratic lawmaker competes in today’s New Hampshire primary, he met with CNN for an interview. During this segment, Phillips asserted that Democrats are out of touch with voters and Biden himself remains “out of the game.”
