Trump called for the release Sunday on Truth Social.
As reported by USA Herald:
“Trump Says He’ll Sign Bill to Release Epstein Files to Stop Democrat Hoax” — USA Herald
“House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide,” Trump wrote on social media. “It’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party.”
Trump’s comments underscore his assertion that the issue has been used as a political weapon. Still, his endorsement helped accelerate congressional action.
Some House Republicans Pressured the White House
Much of the momentum behind the bill came from a small bloc of GOP lawmakers—Reps. Thomas Massie, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Nancy Mace—who insisted the files should be released despite internal party pressure.
Last week, Rep. Boebert was summoned to the White House Situation Room for a meeting with Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel. The meeting did not convince her to withdraw her support.
