A high-stakes dispute in the aerospace industry has landed in court, as Kaman Aerospace Boeing $31M Demand becomes the centerpiece of a lawsuit that could reverberate through defense contracting.
Connecticut-based Kaman Aerospace Corp. filed a complaint in Delaware’s Chancery Court Friday, accusing its former subsidiary, Falcon Jacksonville LLC, of threatening to halt certain Boeing contracts unless the aerospace giant paid an additional $31 million. Kaman warns that such actions put a “critical” customer relationship at serious risk.
The Roots of the Dispute
The conflict stems from Kaman’s November 2024 sale of a product line to Vecco Aerospace Group Inc., which included creating Falcon Jacksonville LLC. Kaman transferred specific assets and liabilities to the subsidiary, notably supply agreements with Boeing.
According to Kaman, Jacksonville allegedly informed Boeing it would suspend deliveries beginning Feb. 1 unless it received an extra $31 million above the agreed contract pricing. Kaman stated it is unclear why Jacksonville made the demand.
“The threatened disruption of contractual performance by Jacksonville would inflict irreparable harm on Kaman’s customer relationships, goodwill, and reputation,” the complaint reads. Boeing accounted for roughly 10% of Kaman’s net sales in 2025.
