Kevin Federline Memoir Met with Fury from Britney Spears Fans

Kevin Federline’s announcement that his memoir, You Thought You Knew, will be released Oct. 21, has ignited a fresh wave of backlash from Britney Spears’ devoted fanbase. Many claim the ex-dancer is trying to profit from a relationship that left deep scars on the pop star’s life and career.

Federline, 47, who was married to Spears from 2004 to 2007 and is the father of their sons Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18. He described his forthcoming book in an August 6 press release as a “deeply personal and emotionally grounded” account of his life.

 He promised to answer questions about his past and to explain personal struggles, writing that he “achieved my biggest dreams, dealt with crushing heartbreak, and endured constant ridicule, all while becoming the father my children needed as they experienced nonstop emotional turbulence.”

Fans Blast the Timing and the Message

The announcement did not sit well with many of Spears’ fans online. One sarcastic social-media reaction read, “That child support dried up realllllll quick 🤡,” while another complained, “His timing tells you everything.”
