On Wednesday, October 16th, it was reported that Liam Payne died from a fall off of his third-story balcony at the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The local authorities called them to the hotel to investigate an “aggressive man.” The man was assumed to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Payne had revealed in recent years that he struggled with addiction.
While it was unsure whether Payne jumped or fell from the balcony, authorities later confirmed that he jumped and succumbed to his injuries. His hotel room was found destroyed with drugs and alcohol present. This fact increased suspicion that he was under the influence when he died. His cause of death was deemed to be internal and external bleeding, as well as a fracture to the base of his skull. Local Argentine authorities will do further investigation and a complete autopsy.
