“He did have a note on him… He appeared to have blamed the NFL for his injury,” Adams said on CBS Mornings. “He wanted his brain studied for CTE.”
Though Tamura played high school football, he never went pro.
NFL, Blackstone React to Tragic Loss
The NFL confirmed one of its employees was seriously wounded. Commissioner Roger Goodell told staff the building would remain closed Tuesday.
“We are deeply grateful to the law enforcement officers… and to Officer Islam, who gave his life to protect others,” Goodell wrote.
Blackstone mourned the loss of LePatner in a public statement, calling her “brilliant, passionate, warm, generous, and deeply respected.”

Adams criticized the shooter’s ability to legally obtain firearms despite concerns about his mental health.
“We have strong gun laws here, but many of our neighboring states have lax gun laws,” Adams said.
Investigators discovered a three-page note in Tamura’s wallet referencing CTE. NYPD teams are now in Las Vegas executing search warrants and tracking the origin of the recovered firearms.
