Last week, a jury in New York found former President Trump guilty of 34 various felonies. The charges against Trump stemmed from his trying to cover up hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
As a now-convicted felon, the former president’s ability to vote has been called into question. Social media users also started circulating the list of countries around the world that prohibit entry to American felons.
Unsurprisingly, Trump and his backers assert that the prosecution and ultimate conviction lack merit and fairness. They insist this is all the work of partisan Democrats with an agenda to bring him down. His legal team even took action to appeal last week’s verdict in New York.
Despite the commotion, new polling reveals that most Independent voters across the country don’t share Trump’s view about his case.
What Independents think about Trump’s conviction
Earlier today, a poll from CBS News/YouGov showed that 50% of Independents believe the former president got a just trial in New York. Only 46% of Independent voters feel that Trump did not receive a fair shot in court.
