Joker: Folie à Deux is one of 2024’s most anticipated films. This is also a direct sequel to 2019’s Joker, which focused on the origin story of villain protagonist Arthur Fleck.
In the first Joker movie, Fleck learned that he may or may not be the product of an affair between his mother Penny Fleck and business power player Thomas Wayne. The movie ended with Fleck snapping mentally and completing his transformation into the Joker.
The character portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix also wound up in Arkham Asylum after murdering TV star Murray Franklin while live on air and also inspiring a riot that led to the deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne.
Joker: Folie à Deux follows these events and just recently wrapped up filming.
What to expect from Joker: Folie à Deux
This new Joker sequel will hit theaters next October and just concluded shooting scenes in New York City. Todd Phillips, the director of Folie à Deux, also confirmed via Instagram that editors will begin their work of perfecting the scenes and getting them ready for public consumption.
