Norway Tops Medal Table After Day 13 at 2026 Winter Olympics as Team USA Surges Into Second Place

With 13 days complete at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, Norway sits atop the overall medal standings, collecting 34 total medals and positioning itself to potentially lead the Winter Games medal table for a third straight Olympics — a feat not achieved in two decades.

The United States moved into second place on Thursday with 27 total medals, edging host nation Italy, which stands close behind with 26.

United States Leads Thursday’s Medal Haul

Team USA delivered the strongest performance of any nation on Day 13, earning three medals — more than any other country that day.

The U.S. women’s hockey team captured gold, adding to a growing medal count that continues to keep the Americans within striking distance of Norway. Figure skater Alysa Liu secured gold in the women’s singles event, while speed skater Jordan Stolz earned silver in the men’s 1500m race.

Team USA’s Medal Breakdown

At the conclusion of Day 13, the United States had accumulated nine gold medals, 12 silver medals and six bronze medals, bringing its total to 27.

Freestyle skiing has proven to be the most successful discipline for the Americans so far, producing six podium finishes. Several U.S. athletes have delivered standout performances, with seven competitors earning multiple medals during the Games.

Jordan Stolz has claimed three medals — two golds in the 500m and 1000m speed skating events, along with a silver in the 1500m. Alysa Liu captured two gold medals, one in the figure skating team event and another in women’s singles competition.

Madison Chock and Evan Bates earned gold in the team figure skating event and silver in ice dance. Jaelin Kauf secured two silvers in moguls and dual moguls, while Liz Lemley won gold in moguls and bronze in dual moguls. Ben Ogden also added two silvers in cross-country skiing events.
