The PAL-V Liberty flying car is the world’s first production-legal gyroplane car, now available for sale. The Dutch company PAL-V International has designed and developed this innovative vehicle, combining the freedom of flight with road capabilities. First deliveries were expected by the end of 2018, marking a milestone in personal aviation.

Performance and Capabilities

The PAL-V Liberty operates as both a three-wheeled gyrocopter in the air and a compact vehicle on the road.

  • Flight Mode: The Liberty can climb to a maximum altitude of 3,500 meters. Its 197hp flying engine enables a top airspeed of 112 mph (180 kph).
  • Drive Mode: The vehicle’s 99hp road engine achieves a top speed of 100 mph (160 kph), with an acceleration of 0-62 mph (100 kph) in 9.0 seconds.

Pricing and Model Variants

The PAL-V Liberty is available in two versions:

  • Liberty Sport: Priced at $399,000 (€299,000), this base model offers essential flying car features.
  • Liberty Pioneer Edition: Limited to just 90 units, this premium model costs $599,000 (€499,000) and includes additional features.

Both versions come with introductory flight training and power heating. Prospective buyers must place a nonrefundable deposit of $10,000 for the Sport model and $25,000 for the Pioneer Edition. A $2,500 refundable deposit secures a spot on the waiting list.
