Support For Postsecondary Education is Declining: POLL

This marks a notable change within the past nine years. Back in 2015, almost six out of ten Americans maintained a positive view of higher education. Only 10% expressed the opposite.

Gallup’s latest survey shows Republicans are likelier than Democrats or Independents to have less than favorable thoughts about colleges and universities. However, confidence in these institutions has fallen for all groups across the political spectrum.

For Americans who remain confident in higher education, the faculty members and education play a significant role. However, those who’ve lost confidence cite the quality of teachings and the perception of advertising political agendas as matters of concern.

Where do we go from here?

Colleges and universities have their work cut out for them. Enrollment rates have already declined in recent years. This, following, the latest polling from Gallup spells bad news for many postsecondary institutions.

In order for colleges and universities to remain afloat, they require a certain number of students attending each year. Yet, these higher learning facilities also need to convince young people that postsecondary education is giving them a good deal.
