Over the weekend, our nation’s political world saw a major switchup. While rumors floated around about President Joe Biden bowing out of the 2024 election, he made it clear – on multiple occasions – that he had no intention whatsoever of stepping down.

However, that changed on Sunday. The 46th president put out a statement announcing he was not only terminating his reelection campaign, but also endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris to succeed him. Biden furthermore stressed that after much consideration, he feels the best course of action is to focus on what’s left of his current presidential term.

Democrats line up behind Harris

After Biden’s announcement, it didn’t take long for the vice president to confirm she’ll step up in the race. From this point onward, tens of millions of dollars in donations arrrived, clearly indicating enthusiasm across the country. On social media, Americans also posted about their support for Harris running and becoming the nation’s first female president.
