It is alleged that iconic pop legend Cher hired kidnappers to abduct her troubled son, Elijah Blue Allman, from a New York hotel room. According to reports, he was desperately trying to salvage his marriage when he was abducted.

 According to recently disclosed court documents, the incident took place on November 30, 2022. 

Elijah Blue Allman, aged 47, the youngest offspring of the legendary "Goddess of Pop," Cher, has struggled for years with a history of drug addiction. It has been a painful ordeal that has strained their relationship. And led to his pending divorce.

 Cher shares Elijah with her late ex-husband, musician Gregg Allman known for his legendary Southern Rock band “The Allman Brothers."

Elijah Blue was in New York with his estranged wife, Marieangela King. Four unidentified men forcibly entered their hotel room. The details in King's declaration were presented in a Los Angeles Court, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Their harrowing ordeal began on their wedding anniversary.  These revelations came to light in the midst of Elijah's ongoing divorce case with Marieangela King, his estranged wife.

Cher hired kidnappers 

King, in her declaration signed on December 4, 2022, expressed grave concern for her husband stating, "I am currently unaware of my husband's well-being or whereabouts. I am very concerned and worried about him." She further revealed, "I was told by one of the four men who took him that they were hired by petitioner's mother."

King's declaration indicated that she believed that Elijah Blue Allman was forcibly confined in an undisclosed treatment facility without access to his phone.

She emphasized her desire for his well-being. "I understand his family's efforts to make sure he is well, and I want what is best for my husband."

The turbulent relationship between Elijah Blue Allman and Marieangela King led to a divorce filing in 2021.

Before the abduction incident, Elijah had reportedly spent around six months residing at the famous Chateau Marmont Hotel in West Hollywood. Hotel staff had become increasingly concerned about his deteriorating condition, prompting them to reach out to Cher.

 Insiders revealed that he was often seen on the hotel's sidewalk. And he appeared disheveled and under the influence.

One source claimed "He would come out with a full cigarette and by the time he had finished it, he would be passed out. It always looked like it was dipped in something. He looked strung-out and messy like he was a homeless person living on the streets."

Cher had hired a caretaker to watch over her son. But despite her best efforts, Chateau Marmont staff discovered him lying unconscious on the pavement outside the hotel's entrance. And she had him checked into rehab again.

Struggles with addiction

The strained relationship between Cher and her son Elijah has been a longstanding issue, marked by periods of estrangement.

 Elijah, who is also a musician, publicly acknowledged his battle with drug addiction. He gave a 2014 interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"I started with drugs around the same time that we all did, around eleven. I mean it's just what you did, it's just what everybody did." At that time, he also said that he had been sober since 2008.

As the details of this alleged kidnapping continue to emerge, it reveals the complex dynamics within Cher's family. And the sad reality of many Americans faced with the challenges of addiction. Fame and money do not make anyone immune to personal turmoil and heartache.
