Anna Tsavera, the 35-year-old deputy editor-in-chief of Komsomolskaya Pravda, Russia’s widely-known pro-Putin newspaper, has been found dead in her Moscow apartment.

This comes just over a year after the mysterious demise of her former boss, Vladimir Sungorkin. He succumbed to a purported “heart attack” during a business trip to eastern Russia. However, the Independent reported that his body showed significant signs of suffocation.

The circumstances surrounding both deaths have raised eyebrows and cast a shadow over the Putin-branded newspaper.

Anna Tsavera’s body was discovered by her parents after she failed to make contact with them for several days.

She had complained of feeling unwell, suffering from a high fever, and a respiratory viral infection.

Her passing has prompted a Russian police investigation. And very little information is being released.
