The Daily Wire stands as a conservative news outlet featuring commentators like Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh, and Michael Knowles. Founded in 2015, the media platform is based out of Nashville, Tennessee and approaches US news and social issues from right-wing perspectives.

Many hosts at the Daily Wire have individual programs where they touch on not just US politics, but also pop culture and other relevant issues impacting the country. Up until today, right-wing commentator Candace Owens worked for the Daily Wire, even hosting her own show.

Earlier this morning, the right-wing news outlet revealed that Owens is no longer under their employment.

What to know about Owens and the Daily Wire parting ways

On X, Jeremy Boreing, the organization's co-founder, confirmed rumors that the Daily Wire and Owens "ended their relationship." Boreing did not elaborate any further or explain what prompted the conservative platform's decision. 

Owens also corroborated the news that she's out. Taking to social media, the right-wing commentator declared herself as "finally free" before urging the public to support her individual work.

In reaction to the news, many of Owens' critics and detractors praised the Daily Wire, saying the company should have parted ways with her long ago.

Accusations of antisemitism against Owens

In light of prior remarks that Candace Owens made about Nazis, Jewish individuals, and Hitler, many branded her as a virile anti-semite.

These remarks include saying the Nazis only burned "bad books," declaring "secret Jewish gangs" go after people in Hollywood, and stating Hitler would have been "OK, fine" if he "just wanted to make Germany great again."

In the aftermath of the war between Israel and Hamas, Owens furthermore insinuated the Jewish state was "[committing] a genocide." Not long after this, she went after comedian Tiffany Haddish, slamming Haddish for taking a trip to Israel last month.

Amid this rhetoric from Owens, many conservative and right-wingers questioned why the Daily Wire would keep her on the payroll, especially since Ben Shapiro, one of the co-founders, is Jewish.

So far, neither Boreing nor anyone else with the Daily Wire has confirmed that Owens' comments on Nazis, Jews, or Hitler were the catalyst for her leaving the company.
