Technology solutions provider American Industrial Systems Inc. (AIS) has filed suit against Aegex Technologies LLC, accusing the digital safety firm of failing to pay for hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of goods and services ordered through multiple purchase agreements.

In a complaint lodged Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, AIS claims that Aegex has refused to fully pay five separate purchase orders from 2022 and 2023, totaling $2,215,452.32. Despite partial payments, Aegex still owes $737,578.82, according to the filing.

A Trail of Delays and Broken Promises

AIS says the trouble began when Aegex stopped making payments on its orders without explanation. In March 2024, AIS claims it contacted Aegex and received assurances that the balance would be paid by the end of that month. But when the deadline passed without payment, AIS followed up repeatedly in April and May.

Receiving little more than vague promises to pay “as soon as cash became available,” AIS alleges Aegex continued to stall through the summer. In July, AIS says it offered a compromise — reduce the outstanding balance to $500,000 by September — but again, Aegex failed to meet the agreed terms.

After months of silence and missed commitments, AIS handed the matter over to its legal counsel in December 2024. A demand letter was issued warning Aegex of imminent legal action if payment wasn’t made within 10 days. According to AIS, Aegex did not respond.
