On one side of this legal metamorphosis stands the illustrious London-based Allen & Overy, a distinguished Magic Circle firm renowned for its global prowess. With a formidable contingent of 622 partners, they have a rich history of setting precedents in the legal world. Opposite them, the New York-based Shearman & Sterling, despite a year marked by turbulence, contributed to this merger with a respectable 178 partners. This marks a striking development for Shearman, who recently faced a steady stream of attorney departures.
