She and other Democrats started discussing the need to form a commission to ‘rein in’ what she and a handful of others see as media ‘disinformation and misinformation’. Unfortunately, her take on misinformation has been anything that moves against her personal agenda and the concepts of socialism.
On Thursday night, AOC released a statement on Instagram Live saying “a federal truth and reconciliation commission was being discussed.”
“I can say, there is absolutely a commission being discussed,” AOC said, in response to a question posed. “But it seems to be more investigatory, in style rather than truth and reconciliation, so I think that’s an interesting concept for us to explore.”
“And I do think that several members of Congress, in some of my discussions, have brought up media literacy because that’s part of what happened here,” she continued. “And we’re going to have to figure out how we rein in our media environment so that you can’t just spew disinformation and misinformation.”
This is stemming from her and other Democratic leaders being “traumatized” by the U.S. Capitol mob attack on January 6. AOC even went so far as to state, “I thought I was going to die. I did not know if I was going to make out of that day alive.”
