Arizona Gov. Ducey Developing Aggressive Plan to Address School Safety

Gov. Ducey’s action comes after the students across the country staged a walkout to protest gun violence. The students demanded politicians to take action and provide solutions to keep their schools safe.

Governors across the country are taking action to improve school safety

He joins a list of governors who said school safety is one of their priorities. On Thursday, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf announced that he created a School Safety Task Force.  Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker announced a $100 million funding to develop and implement school safety plans.

Earlier this month, Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed into law a comprehensive gun control and school safety legislation.

Last month, Governors Dan Malloy of Connecticut, Phil Murphy of New Jersey, Andrew Cuomo of New York, and Gina Raimondo of Rhode Island formed the “States for Gun Safety” coalition.
