As Joe Biden vies for a second term in the Oval Office, his poll numbers are concerning to some in the Democrat Party. The president has infamously taken hits from his own base for backing Israel amid the conflict in the Middle East.

Some Democrats are firmly supportive of Palestine, while others have gone as far as refusing to denounce the various abductions, murders, and rapes carried out by Hamas. Biden, on the other hand, firmly articulated his support for Israel and acknowledged the Jewish state's right to self-defense.

Various polls that put the current president up against Trump in the general election show him either barely squeaking by his rival or losing to Trump altogether. This kind of data is prompting officials like Rep. Dean Phillips to warn that Biden is asleep at the wheel and steering America towards a second Trump presidency.

Now, yet another poll has come out and it's not looking too good for Biden.

Reviewing the latest findings from Gallup

Earlier today, Gallup revealed only 38% of the American people approve of the current president's job performance. Meanwhile, a staggering 59% firmly disapprove.

One factor that's really hurting Biden is the economy. Merely 36% of the country supports his efforts to revive the economy in the aftermath of COVID-19.

Likewise, the president carries only 30% support regarding his response to the war between Israel and Hamas. This is somewhat of a catch-22 for Biden; while many Democrats think he's doing too much to help the Jewish nation, there are considerable Republicans who feel that Biden hasn't been supportive enough of Israel.

Immigration is another huge issue that the president must face as he seeks reelection. So far, only 28% favor his management of the growing amounts of migrants arriving at the southern border.

As of August 2021, the current president hasn't managed to garner an approval rating that tops 44%.

What does this mean for November?

Some Democrats believe if Biden can't increase his approval ratings, then they'll need a new nominee to prevent Trump from getting back in the White House.

However, others think the former president is so unpopular that when push comes to shove, Americans will vote for Biden once faced with the alternative of another Trump presidency.

For what it's worth, Vice President Kamala Harris is on record stating she and Biden beat Trump before and would do it again. The president has also confidently proclaimed that he can defeat his Republican rival once more in November.
