The terror plot was uncovered just hours before the cancellations with the arrest of two suspects, including a 19-year-old Austrian man.
Franz Ruf, director-general for public safety in Austria’s Ministry of the Interior, informed the public in a press conference that the two suspects had allegedly been “radicalized” online. The 19-year-old was believed to have pledged allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State just a month prior.
Violence at a Taylor Swift Dance Party
In another unsettling incident, two weeks ago, a Taylor Swift-themed dance party in the UK turned tragic when two children were killed, and six others were severely injured in a knife attack.
The horrifying incident occurred when a man dressed in black launched a frenzied stabbing spree. A 17-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the attack.
Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy commended the bravery of the adults present at the party, stating, “We believe that the adults who were injured were bravely trying to protect the children who were being attacked.” Despite their efforts, the attack left two dead, and several others injured.
Counter-terrorism Forces Added to Security
