Suspicion of Moreno’s behavior initially arose when a detention service officer noticed her spending an unusual amount of time with Whitfield, despite her no longer representing him.

The officer’s concerns intensified when it was discovered that Moreno had inappropriately used her Dallas County ID to access both the inmate and criminal records of another prisoner. These actions led to Moreno’s arrest, with a bond of $5,000 posted to secure her release.

Details from an arrest affidavit, as reported by Dallas ABC affiliate WFAA, shed light on the unfolding drama.

Moreno’s relationship with Whitfield, whom she had previously represented on a burglary of vehicles charge, went beyond the professional. Their involvement continued even after the case had been dismissed, as revealed by an unnamed source.

Detectives involved in the case noted that the phone conversations between Moreno and Whitfield exhibited an unusually personal tone.

In a September 5 call, Moreno allegedly planned to “expose herself” to Whitfield from the top of a courthouse parking garage, adjacent to the jail. He gave her the signal to proceed by waving a towel from his jail cell window.
