Behind the Curtain
- Allegation Emergence: Leo Terrell, senior counsel in the Trump DOJ, publicly suggested criminal elder-abuse charges against Jill Biden for allegedly concealing former president Biden’s mental capacity and advanced prostate cancer.
- Statutory Analysis: Examination of federal elder-abuse provisions and potential criminal statutes—ranging from misuse of a vulnerable adult’s assets to fraud and forgery—if Jill Biden signed documents on an incapacitated president’s behalf.
- Cover-Up Concerns: Reports indicate that during a 2023 Air Force One flight, Jill Biden and Hunter Biden confronted the former president’s physical decline, yet neither disclosed these issues publicly or to Congressional oversight.

On Monday, following Joe Biden’s disclosure of an aggressive, metastatic prostate cancer diagnosis, Leo Terrell—senior counsel to the assistant attorney general for civil rights—took to X to assert that Jill Biden should face criminal charges for “elder abuse.”
Terrell reshared a post from an account that alleged Jill Biden was aware of President Biden’s health issues but still encouraged his presidential run, labeling her actions as “evil.” Terrell commented on the reshare, “Elder Abuse! Criminal Charges??”
Terrell’s pronouncement quickly went viral, prompting President Donald Trump on Monday to echo concerns about a possible cover-up of Biden’s health by his inner circle.
“I think people should try and find out what happened because I’ll tell you, I don’t know if it had anything to do with the hospital,” he said.
“Walter Reed is really good. They’re some of the best doctors I’ve ever seen. I don’t even know if they were involved. But a doctor was involved in each case. Maybe it was the same doctor. And somebody is not telling the facts. It’s a big, that’s a big problem.”
Conservative outlets have since reported that as early as 2023, during a transatlantic flight after a state visit to Ireland, Hunter Biden allegedly admonished his father—urging him, “You promised you’d take a nap”—as he appeared physically and cognitively unsteady. Hunter Biden reportedly interjected, “You promised…You know you can’t handle all this.” These private exchanges, if substantiated, suggest that the first family possessed intimate knowledge of significant incapacity yet withheld such information from both the public and key congressional overseers.
