Family Advocated for Mental Health
What makes the tragedy even more harrowing is that the Koch family was widely known for their mental health advocacy. Jeremy and Bailey co-founded the nonprofit initiative “Anchoring Hope for Mental Health,” where they shared their deeply personal experiences surrounding Jeremy’s battle with severe depression.
Bailey had recently updated supporters that Jeremy had been discharged from the hospital and was adjusting to a new medication. In a post just days before the deaths, she expressed concern about his reaction to the treatment:
“He’s only been on it for three nights, and his reaction has been negative,” she wrote.
