Gemini 3 from Google is dominating headlines after its blockbuster release last week, with the company calling it a “new era of intelligence.” Integrated directly into Google Search on day one, the new model immediately surged past OpenAI’s latest systems.
It exceeded major benchmarks and shot to the top of LM Arena, the crowdsourced AI ranking platform widely described as the “Billboard Hot 100” for AI systems.
Gemini 3 has a Record-Breaking Launch
According to Google, more than one million users tested Gemini 3 in Google AI Studio and through the Gemini API within the first 24 hours.
“From a day one adoption standpoint, [it’s] the best we’ve seen from any of our model releases,” said Logan Kilpatrick, product lead for Google AI Studio and the Gemini API, in an interview with The Verge.
LM Arena itself confirmed the surge, reflecting unprecedented engagement from developers eager to benchmark the model’s multimodal reasoning and speed.
Google’s official launch post, which describes Gemini 3 as its “most powerful agentic and vibe coding model yet,” can be found here.
