In a news conference, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the activation of the Florida National Guard, ensuring that they are ready to assist with humanitarian needs and search and rescue operations. He emphasized the importance of residents completing their preparations and being ready for power outages, particularly in areas like Tallahassee.

“There’s going to be a lot of trees that are going to fall down. You’re going to have debris. You are going to have power interruption,” Governor DeSantis warned. “So just prepare for that.”
