Three officers sustained gunshot wounds, with one currently in critical but stable condition. Another policeman faces serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A third officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the exchange of gunfire after Boise police arrived at the scene.
The escapees fled the scene in a grey, four-door sedan, suspected to be a Honda Civic.
The identity of Meade’s accomplice remains unknown.

Boise Police Chief Ron Winegar condemned, “This brazen, violent, and apparently coordinated attack on Idaho Department of Corrections personnel, to facilitate an escape of a dangerous inmate, was carried out right in front of the emergency department, where people come for medical help, often in the direst circumstances.”
Chief Winegar stressed the dangerous nature of the suspects, and the urgency of their apprehension.
Descriptions provided by prison officials paint a picture of a 5-foot-6-inch white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, weighing 150 pounds, adorned with tattoos across his arms, chest, calf, abdomen, and face.
