Iranian authorities have unveiled a striking new mural in central Tehran carrying a direct warning to the United States, as American and allied military forces increase their presence in the Middle East amid escalating tensions.
The large billboard, installed Sunday in Enghelab Square, depicts a damaged U.S. aircraft carrier viewed from above, with disabled fighter jets scattered across its deck. Blood trails from the ship into the surrounding water, forming a pattern resembling the stripes of the American flag. The image is accompanied by a message written in both Farsi and English: “If you sow the wind, you will reap the whirlwind.”
Message Unveiled as U.S. Military Mobilizes
The mural appeared as the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group, along with supporting warships, moved toward the region. U.S. President Donald Trump said earlier this week the deployment was precautionary, stating the fleet was being positioned “just in case” military action becomes necessary.
“We have a massive force heading in that direction,” Trump said Thursday. “Maybe we won’t have to use it.”
Enghelab Square, a symbolic site in Tehran frequently used for state messaging, has historically featured murals reflecting political milestones, anniversaries, and moments of national significance. Iranian authorities regularly update the display to reflect official positions on international developments.
