ITC Says Chinese Pressure Washers Harmed US Cos.

In a retaliatory move, Commerce has finalized punitive measures, including a staggering 225.65% antidumping tariff on Vietnamese pressure washers and antidumping duties ranging between 189.52% and 274.37% on their Chinese counterparts. Sixteen Chinese companies are slated to face a punitive countervailing duty of 206.57%, with only one company granted a more modest 11.19% countervailing duty rate, according to a December fact sheet from Commerce.

Enforcement on the Horizon

The orders targeting Chinese products are set to come into force on Feb. 8, as announced by the ITC on Wednesday, further tightening the grip on these contentious imports.

Commerce and the ITC concluded their investigations into Vietnamese imports last autumn, culminating in the imposition of duties on Oct. 13.

Silence Prevails Amidst Legal Maneuvers

While the gavel has fallen on the international trade arena, counsel for FNA Group remained tight-lipped on Thursday, declining to comment. Similarly, representatives for the importers maintained radio silence, failing to respond to requests for comment.
