Jack Dorsey Exits Bluesky and Bounces back to X

Bluesky, started as a project within Twitter in 2019.  Dorsey took the social network independent claiming it empowers users and offers a decentralized experience.

The implications of Dorsey’s departure has sparked speculation within the tech community. 

Bluesky, though not yet publicly available, has garnered significant attention as a potential alternative to mainstream social media platforms like Twitter.

The platform, still in a closed beta phase, has become coveted among users, with invite codes reportedly fetching high prices on resale markets.

Despite the fact that Dorsey’s name still appears on the company website he is no longer on the Bluesky Board. He seems to have no active involvement with the project for several months. The leadership role will remain with Jay Graber, who has served as CEO since 2021.

Dorsey’s relationship with X, since the Elon Musk purchase, has been subject to speculation. 

While he had previously expressed skepticism towards the platform, his recent activity suggests a renewed interest.
