Mass Shooting at Las Cruces Car Show Leaves Three Dead, 15 Injured

A deadly mass shooting at an unsanctioned car show in Young Park, Las Cruces, New Mexico, has left three people dead and 15 others injured. The tragic incident occurred on Friday night when gunfire erupted amid an estimated 200 attendees.

The Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD) identified the deceased victims as 16-year-old Andrew Madrid, 18-year-old Jason Gomez, and 19-year-old Dominick Estrada.

Madrid and Gomez died at the scene, while Estrada was transported to MountainView Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The ages of those injured range from 16 to 36. Nine men and six women were caught in the crossfire, suffering gunshot wounds. Seven of the victims were taken to hospitals in El Paso, while others received treatment in Las Cruces.

“Officers arrived and learned of multiple gunshot victims. Most were transported to local hospitals. Some were taken to University Medical Center of El Paso,” police stated.

Four Suspects Arrested in Connection with the Shooting

Authorities announced on Sunday that four suspects have been arrested, including three juveniles whose names have not been released. The adult suspect, identified as 20-year-old Tomas Rivas, is in custody along with the three minors. All four have been charged with three open counts of murder, with additional charges pending.
