A terrifying Midtown Manhattan rampage unfolded Monday evening when a gunman armed with an M4 rifle stormed a Park Avenue office building, killing four people — including NYPD Officer Didarul Islam — before taking his own life.

The shooter, identified as Shane D. Tamura, 27, of Las Vegas, was reportedly trying to reach the NFL’s offices but ended up opening fire in another part of the building.

The violence erupted around 6:30 p.m. at 345 Park Avenue — a 44-story high-rise that houses major tenants like the NFL, KPMG, and Blackstone. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said Tamura arrived alone in a black BMW and entered the lobby carrying a high-powered M4-style rifle.

He shot Officer Islam, who responded to the emergency, along with two other victims on the ground floor — Blackstone executive Wesley LePatner and security guard Jorel Etienne.

Mayor Eric Adams revealed Tamura was targeting the NFL, blaming it for his supposed diagnosis of CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), a brain disease associated with repeated head trauma.
